As current President and running for re-election, Debbie has been involved with the Harrison Chamber of Commerce since before the opening of her business, Glamorie’ Hair & Nails Salon. Formerly of Clarkston, Mi. in Oakland County, Deb and her husband Frank, purchased their home in Harrison in 1994. After opting out for an early retirement from Ameritech as Customer Service Manager, they decided to move to Harrison in 2000 making this their permanent residence. Deb and Frank have one son, Brandon, who still resides downstate while attending his last year of College at Oakland University. Deb has been elected Chamber President for two consecutive terms and is a very dedicated and passionate individual. She volunteers her time at almost every event the Chamber sponsors and in addition, helps out behind the scenes at any given time. She has also been chairperson for the Frostbite Open Golf Outing
for the last five years which is one of the chamber’s largest events and has worked on the HAEDCO Dinner. In addition to her 20+ years experience in customer service and claims negotiation, Deb has also worked as a Job Location & Development Coordinator at Mid Michigan Community College where she was able to successfully place many students in the work environment and develop numerous positive relationships with various businesses and organizations. She was also elected Vice President of the Leota Business Association, currently serving her third term. She has also recently opened a new retail clothing store in Clare County to serve the needs of our community.

Barbie Hawkins of The Tamaracks Golf Course. Barb and her family moved from Grand Rapids in 1978 and built the Tamaracks Golf Course. She has worked at Michigan Works! for 14 years, also has an active real estate license, and she has been active in the Chamber for 20 years. Barb and her husband Steve have one son. Barb was the originator of the Chamber of Commerce—“Murder Mystery Dinner and still chairs this annual event.

Danielle Simons graduated from Farwell High School, attended Mid Michigan Community College for 2 years before going on to Central Michigan University to receive a B.S.B.A with a major in Finance.  She worked in the banking industry for 5 years before joining Edward Jones and is now currently employed by National City Bank in Harrison as their Licensed Financial Consultant.  Danielle’s current licenses include: Series 7, Series 63, Life and Health Insurance and Residential Builders License.  Danielle is an active member of the Harrison Chamber of Commerce, Harrison Lioness Club, Harrison Women’s Association and the Clare St. Patrick’s Day Committee.  She enjoys spending time with family, snowmobiling and fishing.

Kim Wood has been active in the Harrison Chamber of Commerce for many years. Kim a life long resident of Harrison, her husband Brook and 3 children are very active in community affairs. Kim brings many years of experience, having worked for Mid Michigan Community College for 15 years, managed Grand Rental Station for 3 years and currently is Controller at Mann Construction, all of Harrison.

Stephen Eaton is a native of Harrison and is Dean of Occupational Studies at Mid Michigan Comm. College. He is a graduate of the Harrison High School and Central Michigan University. He moved to and taught high school in Kansas City, Missouri where he earned a Masters of Arts in Higher Education at the University of Missouri. Stephen worked at an Art College in Detroit before returning to Harrison and buying the Flower Shoppe. He recently sold the flower business but continues his work for the college where he has been for the last eight years.

Donn (and his wife Alice) moved to Harrison in 1994, and they are co-owners of Snug Haven Lakeside Resort on Budd Lake.  Donn has been the president of the Budd Lake Area Association for the past eight
years, and in the past he has been an adjunct instructor at Mid-Michigan Community College, and Central Michigan University, where he received a Master’s degree in Interpersonal Communication.

Tracey was born and raised in Harrison; she raised her 2 children Erica Yost and Corey Elya here. She and Pat Connelly now enjoy 2 grandsons that live in Harrison as well. She graduated from Harrison High School, Mid Michigan Community College and Central Michigan University where she received a B.S.B.A. in Business Administration majoring in accounting. Tracey is the new City Clerk for the City of Harrison, before that she was the City Treasurer for 5 ˝ years. She is a member of the Clare County Brownfield Authority, Harrison Downtown Development Authority, Harrison Building Authority and HAEDCO. Before working at City Hall Tracey was employed for 4 ˝ years as the assistant controller for Waste Management’s Northern Oaks Landfill and Hauling Company in Harrison. Before receiving her degree she worked 24 years in the family business, Northland IGA. She is also involved in many community activities such as Cubs Scouts, Little League, Relay for Life, United Way, Junior Achievement, the chamber’s “Murder Mystery” and Street Fair.
