The 3/50 Project

Picture
Consider this: “For every $100 spent in independently owned stores, $68 returns to the community through taxes, payroll, and other expenditures. If you spend that in a national chain, only $43 stays here. Spend it online and nothing comes home” (the350project.net).
With that in mind, the Harrison Chamber is proud to announce that it has added “The 3/50 Project” to its Membership benefits.
This program, which was started by retail consultant and professional speaker Cinda Baxter, is based on “saving the independent brick and mortar companies that our nation is built on” (the350project.net). To participate in this program, we are encouraging our local consumers to choose three independently owned businesses in the area that they would miss if they were to go out of business. Stop in, say hello, and pick up something.
Once you have receipts totaling $50.00, drop them off at the Harrison Chamber office. You’ll be entered into a drawing to win a $50.00 Chamber Cash Certificate – which you can then use to purchase items at our local members’ stores and businesses (for more information on Chamber gift certificates, call (989) 539-6011). The drawings are held quarterly at the General Membership Meetings.
This program presents no costs to local businesses. For more information, visit the
the350project.net or call the Harrison Chamber office at (989) 539-6011.
